Top 10 lesser-known Thai foods you must try while in Thailand

I’ve made this video especially for those who are planning to visit Thailand and are wondering what to eat there.

All dishes listed here are my personal favourites. For each dish, I briefly explain the ingredients, the making process, and the taste. I hope you find this useful.

I’m happy to answer any question you may have, so don’t hesitate to leave your questions or comments here.

  1. Hi Sunny, this is a nice video. I would love to eat all the food you recommend. Maybe one day we will come to Thailand and you will take us to your favourite restaurants. Thank you for liking my post on Cookaholic. I hope my recipe sounds at least a little bit authentic what you cook in Thailand. Take care, Pavla

    • Thanks for your kind words, Pavla. I’m happy to see that you like Thai cuisine and cooking Thai food 🙂 Your red curry looks delicious. You may want to try making your own red curry paste next time. I always love making my own curry paste because it will always taste better than a ready-made one. There are just over 10 ingredients for the red curry paste, most of which you should be able to find at an Asian supermarket (garlic, shallot, lemon grass, galangal, dried red chili, kaffir lime zest, lesser ginger (Krachai), coriander roots, shrimp paste, salt, coriander seeds, cumin, and black peppercorn). Take care!

  2. Wow thank you Sunny, I would love to try to make my own curry paste. I never thought about it. We have here in my city some Asian shop and they have all this stuff. Thanks for sharing! Btw. you put everything in blender and mix it? Do you have some recipe which say how much of which ingredient I have to use?
